I have been to the EB Social Kitchen & Bar and each time have had a different, yet still delightful experience. They change their menu seasonally, and so far I have sampled both their Winter menu as well as their Summer menu. This is one of my favourite restaurants. That I can come into the book store, browse at leisure, buy a book or two, then go take a seat in this cool industrial space to enjoy some good food is pure heaven for me. Two of the things I love the most under one roof.
Tapas-style meals, but the Social Kitchen also has the option of larger single serving meals if lingering over your food is not quite your thing. You can order from the very small plates menu – very much appetizer-sized portions of charred sourdough, lamb kofta with minted yoghurt; from the plates you might like to share – slightly bigger portions of salmon tartare, grilled chorizo and salmon with crème fraîche and blini; or from the more substantial dishes menu which includes a firm favourite of the rigatoni bolognaise with parmesan, slow roasted pork shoulder or a choice from the fishmonger’s choice. I tried the sea bass the last time which I would highly recommend.
Reservations are always recommended, even though the last few times I have been there I have just walked in.
